October Athlete of the Month: Connor Portlock

Portlock led the Owls with 50 points this season.

Athlete of the Month: Connor Portlock

Sport: Soccer/Football

Stats:  Portlock was first on the soccer team in nearly every statistical category. He recorded 12 assists and 19 goals this season, which were each among the tops in St. Louis. He helped the Owls win a district title in soccer. He was also named to the 2nd team all-conference team for football as a kicker and a punter. In soccer, he also earned 1st team all-conference and 1st team all-district.

For his Windsor soccer career, Portlock finds himself near the top in several statistical categories. Here is where he stands: 

6th in points with 91 points
Tied for 6th in goals with 32 goals
3rd in assists with 27 assists
Tied for 7th in game-winning goals with 6 GWs

How did it feel to win districts?

“It was pretty honoring to win districts, but I was already looking forward to the next game and the next step,” Portlock said.

How was it playing soccer and football in the same season?

“It was fun and it was cool to see how both teams work and how I can compete on two different levels and two different sports,” Portlock said.  

How was Portlock’s overall season?

Head coach Chris Krueger said, “He was our team captain…  Everything went through him offensively, as he was our center midfielder.  His leadership led this team to a district title and a sectional appearance.”
