Where is he from?

Funston is originally from Herculaneum.

Where did he go to college?

He attended Southeast Missouri State University.

How long has he been at Windsor?

Funston is in his 18th year at Windsor.

What is his athletic background?

In high school, he played football, basketball and baseball.

What is his favorite thing about coaching?

He likes seeing the game plan or skill that they have worked on all week being executed on a Friday night and the players being successful in that situation. That plus the camaraderie with the players and other coaches throughout the season makes football much more fun.

What is his proudest moment as a coach/teacher?

He says he has many, but he has two that stand out. His first is in 2002, when Windsor beat the undefeated North County team to win the district championship. The other moment was in 2005, when Windsor beat the top ranked team in Missouri, Herculaneum.

Who is in his family?

He married his wife, Denise, in 1999. She is now the principal at Windsor Elementary. Together they have 3 daughters: Avery, (14) who is a freshman at Windsor High School, Maggie, (13) an eighth grader at the Windsor Middle School, and Delaney (3) who is in the pre-K class at Freer Elementary School.  

What is his favorite movie & food?

His favorite movie is the The Godfather, and his favorite food is red beans with rice and grilled Andouille sausage.
