Get ready for it, teachers–the chaos is about to begin.

Homecoming week is always an eventful time for teachers and students.

A school assembly, a parade and a high school dance are just a few of the exciting events that will take place.

Windsor students and guests attending the dance are in for a treat because this year’s theme is “The Hunger Games.”

“I think this year’s homecoming theme is very original,” junior Madeline Brothers said. “It’s not a generic theme that other schools do.”

Windsor’s Student Council puts in a significant amount of thought into each year’s dance theme. Most members are thrilled with the year’s theme.

“When STUCO attends conventions and other activities, we discuss homecoming themes. This theme is different and no other school around here has done something like this,” Brothers said.

Every year, the  student council hopes to improve their dances.

“My goals for this year are for the decorations to be better and have more people attend because I want every year to exceed previous ones,” Brothers said.

As usual, the high school will have an assembly at 1:20 pm on Thursday, September 19.

At 1 pm on Friday, September 20, the homecoming parade will begin in Kimmswick. Due to a scheduling issue, there will not be a homecoming football game this year. However, Windsor will be hosting a “Spirit Night” instead of the game.

To begin the festivities, the high school will host a community chili dinner from 4:00-6:00 pm  in the cafeteria. From 5:00-6:30 Windsor athletic teams and clubs will be setting up booths on the tennis courts. Then, beginning at 6:30 pm, the Windsor fall athletic teams and band will be introduced. To wrap up the event, the 2019 homecoming coronation will take place.

This year’s theme may be different but students can expect something extraordinary.

Brothers said, “We thought of something random and now we are running with it. Don’t worry though, it’s going to be good.”
