Since the retirement of superintendent Dr. Holland, Windsor’s School Board of Education has hired Jason King for the 2022-2023 school year. When considering King, the board voted unanimously 7-0 for him to take the new position.

Dr. Julie Schubert was involved in the interview process for the new superintendent and has a very positive review of the process.

Schubert said, “It was a great honor and privilege to be a part of the superintendent interview process, which was a first for me. The Windsor C-1 School District is a very important part of my life as well as in the lives of our students, faculty, and community.”

Previously, King worked for 20 years at Bismark R-5 School District as a superintendent, English and Social Studies teacher, and building level administrator.

Schubert said, “His experiences have been in a smaller district where the community and school are tightly intertwined.  This is a mindset that is very important to school-community partnerships and makes me excited to begin working with him.”

So far, everyone that was chosen to interview King has taken a liking to him.

In a statement released by the school district, Board President Tim McCraw said, “Jason King comes highly recommended; we did a thorough research of him and the one thing that was a constant, which coincided with my impression in visiting with him, was the high quality of individual that he is. Jason is very genuine, down-to-earth, and has the qualities that I believe our Windsor C-1 staff will relate to.”

King said, “I am looking forward to becoming part of the Windsor Owl family, doing my part to continue the tradition of excellence that the District is known for, and getting to know students and staff.”
