With so much negativity in the world, a little lifting up never hurt anybody. Sometimes people just have to say “Dude, be nice.”

That is exactly what happened on Friday, December 9, at Windsor High School. As a part of the “DUDE. Be Nice” initiative, the Windsor Student council decided to do something nice for a Windsor faculty member. The student council came across the program at a convention in the spring. On Friday, they had a big surprise for teacher Kelly Stockwell.

While Stockwell walked to her sixth hour class, most of the school lined the hallways to cheer for the math teacher.  While this was going on, the song “ Circle of Life” from The Lion King played over the intercom. Stockwell is a huge Disney fan. Her classroom was covered in Disney decorations and she even received flowers from several students, teachers and administrators.
