Athlete of the Week: Sam Haight
The senior is leading the Owls in scoring this season.
December 16, 2016
Sam Haight, who has been on a starter since his freshman year, helped the basketball team to a 17-10 record in the 2015-2016 season. It was Windsor’s first winning season since the 2005-2006 season. The loss of Trey Miller and Logan Kelley-Wolff has left a void that Haight is trying to fill. Haight averaged 8.4 points per game last year, but has upped his average to 13.8 points a game this season. In the recent Gene Steighorst tournament held at Hillsboro High School, Haight scored a career high 27 points in a 69-60 triple overtime victory over Northwest. T
“It feels awesome to be a senior leader on the team because you get to set an example for the underclassman on the team. My favorite highlight of the season would be beating Northwest in triple overtime and dropping 27 points,” Haight said.
The Owls (2-4) play at 7pm tonight at home against Mehlville (3-3).
