The junior has not lost a match this season.

Ryan Yarnell went 45-5 last year and was one match away from receiving a state medal. The Windsor wrestling team upgraded their schedule this year, so it was expected to be a much tougher season for the Owls. However, Yarnell has given up only 3 points in 21 matches this season. He has pinned 13 of his 21 opponents. The junior started off the year in dominant fashion by winning the Fort Zumwalt North tournament in the 182 pound weight class. He then took on the Fort Zumwalt East tournament, where he went 6-0. Yarnell rolled through everyone and made it look easy as he took home first place from the Ft. Zumwalt East tournament.
The Windsor wrestling team then took a trip to wrestle in Springfield, Missouri, at the Kinloch Classic. Yarnell went 8-0 and beat a state medalist 2-1 in the title match. The win kept Yarnell at a perfect 21-0 for the season.
Yarnell has high expectations for himself.
“The goal is to qualify for state and to prepare myself to win the whole thing. I have to stay healthy, keep my mind right and work hard,” Yarnell said.
