Ryan Yarnell is on a mission. Yarnell has been to the state meet three years in a row, and is planning on finishing his senior season with an exclamation point.  Last year, even though he was battling the flu, Yarnell placed third at the state meet.

“Ryan is a very determined individual that works very hard to get where he is as a student athlete.  The season is going as expected, and we expect to finish the season on a high note,” assistant coach Ryan Bollinger said.

Yarnell currently has a record of 34-0 and has won tournament titles this season at Kinloch, Fort Zumwalt East, Fort Zumwalt North, Rockwood Summit and SEMO. On Friday, Yarnell made Windsor history. He became the leader in all-time wins with 152. The record was previously held by Tyler Warren with 147 career wins.  Interestingly, Tyler Warren may also get passed by his brother, Jacob Warren, who is a returning state champ. Warren currently has 136 wins.

Head coach Kevin Stoffey said, “Ryan has been very steady for four years. He continues to get better every year if that’s possible. He makes my job very easy.”

After breaking Windsor’s record for most career wins, Yarnell said, “It’s special for sure.  It’s nice to be recognized for your hard work.  But it won’t mean anything until I achieve my real goal.”

Obviously, his real goal is to win a state title.

“He’s definitely on a mission and won’t settle for second best,” Stoffey said.
