With summer’s adventures and good times coming to an abrupt end, Jennifer Klingeman left some of her students with memories plenty warm enough to get the fellow students through winter.

Klingeman recently traveled to Scotland and Ireland this past summer with 27 students and said her experience was nothing short of amazing.

Several teachers joined Klingeman on the trip, including Casey Willenbrock, Mary Ann Laupp and Kelly Stockwell.

Willenbrock said, “Scotland was basically amazing.”

Olivia Thompson said, “It was extremely rainy and cold most of the time, but everyone there is really nice and the landscaping was extremely pretty.”

There are plenty of things to do in Scotland and Ireland, as well with a bunch of sight seeing.

Thompson said, “We went to a few palaces, a dog farm and ghost tours around Edinburgh, as well as the basic tours.”

Surprisingly, at least according to one student, the food was not much different in Europe.

“The food was the same as it was here. The weirdest thing there was the Haggis. Haggis is a bunch of food thrown into the lining of a pig,” Thompson said.

In the summer of 2019,  Klingeman will be hosting a trip to Costa Rica. The group has been provided with a number of activities to enhance their experience.

Klingeman said, “Costa Rica is out of my comfort zone.”

For the students, seeing teachers away from the classroom enhances the trip experience.

“They were a lot more fun and into trying new things, trying to get the full experience,” Zoe Marler said.

The activities were one of the big draws that allowed Klingeman to make her decision to travel to Costa Rica next summer.

Klingeman said, “I am excited for the animals, and I’m excited for my students to have fun on the things I’m terrified of.”

Some of these activities include seeing exotic animals, such as having a chance to pet a sloth, as well as white water rafting and ziplining.

Many of the past trips have created excitement for the upcoming Costa Rica trip.

Positive reviews such as this certainly make it an incentive for the students to take a chance on the voyage.

Willenbrock said, “Go… Go… Go… just travel and enjoy it.”
