Mr. WHS is a pageant in which males from Windsor come to represent their clubs, activities, or sports.
During the event, the participants start by introducing themselves and what club they are representing. In the second round, the contestants are asked one question and they must answer honestly. During the final round, the contestants perform their best skills to impress the crowd one last time to sway their votes.
Kevin Klenk said, “My favorite part of Mr. WHS was the talent portion.”
Klenk performed as a magician with some outstanding, mind blowing tricks.
To vote, you get two tickets when you pay the entry fee to vote for whoever you would like to win or advance in the next rounds. You could buy extra tickets if you would like to continue voting or put more votes in for who you would like to win for Mr. WHS. After the final vote was tallied, the new Mr. WHS was Steven Robinson.
Robinson performed his own rap in the talent portion of the pageant.
Robinson said, “I enjoyed winning the crown most in Mr. WHS.”
According to teacher Michelle Dalaviras, Mr. WHS has been going on for some time now, but some years the pageant did not happen. In the past, Lisa Honz and Kelly Stockwell would raise money to go towards the prom dance.
Now, the Thespian Society runs Mr. WHS in order to raise money for bags for Treats-For-Tots, buying toys for the DECA food drive, and also for the Missouri Thespian Convention. At this convention, seniors can get scholarships and can compete in competitions.
Dalaviras looks forward to this convention every year.
She said, “It’s three days of nothing but theatre. We go see shows, go to workshops on any and everything concerning theatre.”
The Mr. WHS contest was a hit this year, so it is unlikely to go away again.
Dustin Svoboda said, “It was a great time to be with some of my friends and all the other guys that ran they all made me laugh during the pageant.”
