The Windsor Varsity boys basketball team is officially on their way to districts.

The No.4  seed Windsor Owls will play the No. 5 seed Affton Cougars. The game will be played at 1pm on Saturday, February 27, at Windsor.

The Owls (12-11) are coming into this district matchup against the Cougars on a relative high note. The Owls were able to rebound from a six game losing streak by winning their last two games of the season against Perryville (66-44) and Hancock (67-34) on the road.

Head coach Ryan McArthy believes the team’s success this season can be pinpointed on the team’s strong chemistry and their overall attitude on and off the court.

Amabile, Beerman, and Chaney have really started to form some great chemistry on and off the court. I would say the thing I’m most proud of this year would be the way these guys powered through the adversity and tough challenges that this season brought. I am very proud of the fight and pride that we continue to show. It may not reflect in our record, but we will continue to stay the course and give everything we have one game, practice, and possession at a time,” McArthy said.

The Owls will look to end this positive season by beating the Affton Cougars this Saturday and advancing on to get that much closer to being able to compete for a district title.

“Affton gave us some trouble early in the year with their size and three point shooting, and we beat them by 8 so we are looking forward to playing them again,” McArthy said.
