After 14 years at Windsor, Jason Naucke is retiring from Windsor. Prior to becoming the principal, he was the athletic director at Windsor. He also previously worked at Hancock and Kirkwood.

His replacement is no stranger to Windsor students and staff.

Assistant principal Dr. Rachel Montgomery was recently named the principal for the 2023-24 school year.

Retirement has been on Naucke’s mind since the beginning of the school year.

“I realized at the beginning of this school year that I could retire at the end of the year.  I thought about it during the first semester and finally decided to retire in January.  Now that we are a few years removed from the COVID pandemic, I feel like WHS is in a good place and the time felt right,” Naucke said.

Because Naucke is leaving, one logical replacement was Dr. Montgomery, who has been at Windsor since 2004.

Montgomery is highly thought of and respected by her peers.

“I am beyond thrilled that Dr. Montgomery will be the next WHS principal.  I have worked with her for the past 14 years and she is not only an amazing administrator, but she is also an amazing person.  Some would call her OWL-SOME,” Naucke said.

Rachel Montgomery has been at Windsor for 19 years and clearly loves being an educator and enjoys the community.

Montgomery said, “I have always been a believer in giving back to your community. Being an educator is one of the most rewarding ways to give back to your community and I  am truly honored to be serving the Windsor community!”

It seems Windsor High School is in good hands.

Naucke said, “Our school is filled with incredible teachers and faculty.  The fact that I know that WHS is in good hands makes it easier to retire.  I will certainly miss the students, staff, and families at Windsor.”
