Harman Races Into The Record Book

Noah Harman ran the fastest 100m dash in Windsor history.

Staff Report

Several times over the past year, junior Noah Harman has flirted with the Windsor school record in the 100 meter race. Last year, he ran 11.19, which was just off of the 11.17 that Stephone Allen ran in 2008.

On Tuesday at Potosi, Harman raced into the record books after posting a time of 11.14.

Harman said, “I was focused from the second we arrived at the meet telling myself over and over that I’m the one to do this. I’m gonna beat this today no matter what. Losing was not an option.”

While he’s happy that the record is finally his, Harman isn’t finished yet.

Harman said, “There is still more room to grow and improve, not only taking down the 100 record but near the 200 as well, only being .3 seconds off. This off season will be a story to tell.”

The Owls head coach Jeff Stoffey was not surprised to see the record broken by Harman.

Stoffey said, “I knew it was only a matter of time. He is an incredibly hard worker and an overall great kid. Noah is in the zone right now. I can’t wait to see what he can accomplish the rest of the way.”

After finishing in second place at multiple meets this season as a team, the boys team took home first place at the Potosi Invitational on Tuesday. It is the second straight year in which they won at Potosi.

The Owls track team will compete at the JCAA conference meet next Wednesday and Thursday at Hillsboro. After conference, the Owls only have one regular season meet remaining before districts.  The district meet will take place at Cape Girardeau Notre Dame on Saturday, May 13.

“This is the most important and exciting time of the entire school year,” Stoffey said. “We are starting to hit our stride, so hopefully we can finish the season strong and get several athletes through to the state meet in Jefferson City.”
