Thirteen years at the nest wasn’t enough.
Max Kimbrough, who is now a student teaching in the social studies department, is back for more at Windsor.
“I went to Windsor all the way from kindergarten through high school. I graduated from Windsor in 2021,” Kimbrough said.
Kimbrough has been attending college at the University of Central Missouri.
Why come back to Windsor?
“I wanted to student teach at Windsor because I wanted to give back to where I started and have an impact on kids from where I have grown up. Getting to learn from some of the teachers that inspired me to become a teacher has been very helpful, Kimbrough said.
Teachers generally have to student teach in the final semester of their undergraduate program. Kimbrough is student teaching for social studies teacher Kelly Isaacson this semester.
“I wanted to become a student teacher and go into education because I wanted to share my passion for history with students and help them become better individuals. Having a positive impact on a student’s life is very rewarding and hopefully I can help them enjoy learning about history. Learning about history is important because there are often patterns that are repeated and, if we can learn them, maybe we can improve in the future,” said Kimbrough.
