Junior Connor Portlock plays an instrumental role for the boys soccer team. Portlock, a two-year starter, is leading the team in points this season with 20. He also leads the team in assists (8) and is tied for second in goals scored (6).

Portlock said, “We have a good season going into districts and we are going to play hard. We have a lot of good underclassmen thrown into the mix and are ready to be district champs. We have had an awesome season and we’re ready to go out with a bang.”

The soccer team is the No. 1 seed in the district and will play Festus on Tuesday at 4:30 at Hillsboro. Windsor beat Festus 6-0 on September 20. The winner advances to the district championship on Thursday at Hillsboro. If Windsor beats Festus, they will play the winner of Hillsboro vs DeSoto.

As the No. 1 seed, the team is especially looking forward to districts.

Coach George Van Dyke said, “The boys will get to shave my beard off if they win districts. It will be tough with the targets being on our backs being the one seed.”
