The Windsor football team played their last game on October 24 against  St. Mary’s High School. The Owls lost a hard fought district game 63-35. The Owls ended their season with a record of 4-6.

While the season did not end the way the Owls had hoped, the team did have several bright spots. For the season, the offense averaged 34 points per game. The Owls had two 1000+ yard rushers in seniors Brandon Fouts and Kael Ward. Tight end Jake Baker scored 10 touchdowns and had 496 yards receiving this season. Senior Brandon Fouts ended the season with 2,115 rushing yards and  is the second player in Windsor history to rush for over 2,000 yards. Fouts ran for 433 yards against Cuba.

Fouts said, “2,000 yards is a huge accomplishment, something I didn’t think I’d get in the beginning of the year. I had put in so much work in the offseason but that big number (2000) is just such a stretch. Once I had rushed for 343 against Festus, I knew I was capable of reaching it. Huge shoutout to our O-Line, Imma have to buy them dinner.”

The other player to rush for 2,000 yards was current offensive coordinator Blane Boss with 2,325 during the 2003 season.

“Blane’s 2003 season was incredible. Watching him run for a then-state record 508 yards was a night I will never forget,” teacher Jeff Stoffey, who was on the 2003 team, said. “I didn’t think any Windsor athlete would ever get close to the record, but Fouts gave it a good run.”
