This year, the Student Council, International Thespian Society and the National Honor Society teamed up together to run a canned food drive.   The groups decided to put a twist to the donation process.  Students donated cans toward a teacher. The top two teachers each day got to sit on the ‘throne’ the next day. Teachers such as Kim Schmidt, Michael Sellman, Michelle Dalaviras and Jeff Stoffey were “winners” of the throne during the week. Stoffey had to sit on a toilet for three straight days. All comfortable chairs were removed from the teacher’s classrooms.

“I was happy to do it because it was for a great cause,” Stoffey said. “I am happy to have my comfy chairs back though.”  

This year’s drive was more than a success.

“Our goal for this year was to get a donation of a thousand cans maybe fifteen hundred.  This year STUCO went to a convention and heard different ideas on how schools make their organizations eventful, so STUCO decided to put their own little twist on it,” senior Jaelynn Hunnicutt said.

ITS’s main goal is to fund and help out the “Treats for Tots” organization.  To help out, the Windsor STUCO decided to put in the canned food drive.  They decided to join together to donate to the local food pantry.  From October 31-November 3, Windsor managed to bring in nearly 2000 cans

“I really hope we bring this back next year. This is going very well and I would really enjoy doing something again like this next year,” junior Tyler Lingle said.
