The Windsor Owls track team had a successful day on Saturday in the Class 4 Sectional 1 meet at Hillsboro.

Taylor Richey is returning to the state meet next week. Richey qualified for the state meet in three individual events–100m (2nd), 200m (2nd), and the 400m (4th).

Nicole Barton will also be returning to the state meet. Barton took first in pole vault after clearing 11 feet.

The Owls also took third place in the 4×200, which included Ali Perry, Tori Bowen, Nicole Barton, and Taylor Richey.

Several other Owls came close to advancing to state. Joel Farmer jumped 43 feet in triple jump, but just missed the cut after finishing in fifth place. The jump of 43 feet was a personal record by Farmer. Tori Bowen took sixth place in javelin. Kalen Jarnegan finished 7th in the 300 hurdles.

The Owls will compete in the state track meet on Friday and Saturday in Jefferson City.
