Cierra Parker has taken the next step in her softball career. She began playing softball at five years old. To those who have watched her, there is no surprise that she would want to continue playing at the collegiate level. Parker had three different offers and decided that Jefferson College would suit her best.

In the fall, Parker helped lead the Owls to a 17-8 record while hitting .391 on the season.

With her friends and family in attendance, she officially signed today.

Parker said, “(Jefferson College) has a good softball program, good education, and altogether felt like home.”

When going to Jefferson College, she is looking forward to meeting new people and the overall experience. She has had two big motivations in her softball life.

“My dad was always there to push me to be better, and my select coach Al (Sampson) always motivated me to reach out to people and truly helped me within the last couple of years.”

She looks up to Jessi Veselske and Piper Montgomery because they play at the next level as well. Although it is exciting to move on, it is always challenging to leave your team behind. Parker spent all four years with the varsity team and coaches. Besides softball, Parker also plays basketball and soccer.

Parker said, “I have built up a support system here; they are like family to me.”
