For nearly two decades, Dennis Pagel has been a familiar and respected face at Windsor High School. After 18 years in the building, Pagel has made a lasting impact on students not only in the classroom, but also through his dedication to Windsor athletics and school culture.
When asked what he loves most about Windsor, Pagel doesn’t hesitate with his answer: “The students are what make Windsor special,” he said.
Over the years, he has enjoyed building relationships, watching students grow, and being part of their journey through high school. That connection is what has kept him committed to Windsor for so long.
Pagel’s influence extends well beyond the classroom. During his first three years at Windsor, he coached basketball, helping guide student-athletes and build teamwork on and off the court. For the past 15 years, he has coached golf, combining leadership with a sport he truly enjoys. His long-term involvement in athletics reflects his dedication to giving students opportunities to succeed and find confidence.
Outside of school, Pagel values time with his family above all else. He enjoys hanging out at home with his kids and spending quality time together. When the weather is nice, he also likes to hit the golf course with his good friends, a hobby that allows him to relax and stay active.
After 18 years at Windsor, Pagel has seen many changes, but one tradition remains a favorite–school lunch. His top pick is the Thanksgiving holiday meal, especially the mashed potatoes. It’s a small detail, but one that adds to his appreciation of Windsor’s sense of community.
“The Thanksgiving meal with those mashed potatoes is the best meal at Windsor,” Pagel said.
